District reflects on tragic loss of Class of 2021 graduate Kaylin Gillis
Gillis attended Schuylerville Elementary School in kindergarten and first grade and returned to the district in high school for grades 10-12. She had hopes and dreams of becoming a veterinarian or marine biologist.

Universal Prekindergarten lottery to be held April 19

Schuylerville Elementary School participates in Autism Awareness Week
Every April, Autism Speaks celebrates World Autism Month, beginning with an awareness day on April 2. Schuylerville Elementary School celebrated for an entire week, inviting students and staff to further their own understanding of autism and promote kindness.

March 30 regional school threats
All three Schuylerville school buildings entered a hold in place advised by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office. School districts throughout the Capital Region received threats, and out of an abundance of caution, sweeps of school buildings were conducted by law enforcement.

Students advocate for ‘Healthy School Meals for All’ funding
In June 2022, federal funding expired and districts in New York State began charging students for breakfast and lunch again, unless the student’s family qualified for free or reduced-price meals. Statewide, an estimated 470,000 children are ineligible for free school meals, but live in households still struggling to make ends meet.
