Food Services

One of the most important ways in which schools can help children perform better in classrooms is to provide them with the nutrition necessary for healthy minds and bodies. To that end, Schuylerville Central School District provides breakfast and lunch for Elementary School, Middle School and High School students. If you cannot access any of the lunch menus below, please contact the main office of your child’s school.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP)

All students enrolled in the Schuylerville Central School District are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge each day of the 2024-25 school year. No further action is required of parents/guardians; students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application. A la carte purchases (snacks, drinks and doubles) must be paid at time of purchase.

This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), coupled with additional funding by New York State. CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students. Free meals through CEP are approved in Schuylerville through June 30, 2027 with the hope of ongoing reauthorization every four years.

However, families are still asked to complete a brief income survey. The income data is used to qualify families for additional benefits and to support the district’s Title One funding.
If you have any further questions, please contact Sarah Keen, Director of Food Service at keens@schuylerville.org or by calling 518-695-3255 ext 2290.

Paying for Meals with LINQ Connect

Schuylerville students are invited to take advantage of the district’s computerized account system for purchasing and paying for meals. Visit the LINQ Connect website to register.

LINQ Connect accounts show the following:

  • Current balances
  • Notes or restrictions on student meal accounts
  • Cafeteria transactions
  • Families can also receive low balance notifications and set up one-time or recurring payments for student meals.

LINQ Connect also offers an app. Download in the Google Play Store or Apple Store:

Income Form

Schuylerville CSD still encourages families to complete an income form on the LINQ Connect website that is vital for other grants and aid programs. The income form equates to the former Free and Reduced-price Meals Application that would qualify families for assistance.

Meal Charge and Prohibition Against Meal Shaming Policy

The Schuylerville Central School District will never deny a student a meal due to lack of funds. Breakfast and lunch are currently free however a la carte purchases (snacks, drinks and doubles) must be paid at time of purchase. Prompt payment is requested and notices will be sent if a student accrues meal charges. If you have any questions, please contact Director of Food Service Sarah Keen at keens@schuylerville.org or 518-695-3255 ext 2290.

School Wellness Policy

All schools participating in the National School Breakfast/Lunch Program must establish a local school wellness policy that includes specific goals for nutrition promotion and education, physical activity, and other school-based activities. In addition, standards and nutrition guidelines for all foods and beverages available on the school campus during the school day must remain consistent with federal regulations designed to promote student health and reduce childhood obesity. School districts must meet and provide a triennial assessment report that describes the extent to which it is complying with the wellness policy. Community members and stakeholders are invited to join the district wellness committee. If interested, please reach out to Sarah Keen at keens@schuylerville.org.
