Transportation

Schuylerville CSD has 40 buses in its fleet that transport approximately 1,400 Schuylerville students and 30 private and parochial school students each day. With safety as the number one priority, Schuylerville’s buses are thoroughly inspected every morning, and bus drivers go through extensive training before obtaining licensing. In total, the district’s buses travel 380,000 miles a year transporting students to and from school, athletic events, and field trips. Learn more about what parents can do to help make this a priority, too.

Tyler Drive Tablets/Ride 360 App

All large school buses are equipped with Tyler Drive Tablets, an initiative funded by the federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) grant. The tablets are mounted in buses and provide live GPS, as well as student ridership information to the district’s transportation department. The tablets do the following for all bus routes:

  • Provide turn by turn directions for bus drivers
  • Re-route drivers if needed (just like a GPS)
  • Provide notifications to bus drivers about where each bus stop is (this will be particularly helpful for substitute bus drivers)
  • Allow students to swipe a badge as they enter and exit the bus
Ride 360 App

Parents can download an app called Ride 360, giving them access to their child’s bus number, name of the bus driver, and the expected bus arrival time based on the GPS data (for both morning and afternoon runs.) Each student can have two parents/guardians sign up for the app, but parents/guardians can share their login information with others (i.e. grandparents, caregivers, etc.) In regard to safety/custody issues: the transportation department will have access to manage users who have access to the app if a situation arises. Click here for detailed instructions on how to download the app.

School closings and delays

When Schuylerville Central School District is forced to close or delay schools or to dismiss students early due to inclement weather or other emergency conditions, information is posted on the district homepage. Parents will also be notified regarding closings/delays via SchoolMessenger email and text message notifications.

Bus Routes and Bus Signs

Information on Schuylerville’s bus routes is distributed by the Transportation Department. For safety purposes, we do not post bus routes on the district website.
