Ben VanVeghten recognized by National Football Foundation’s Capital District Chapter


Schuylerville High School senior and student-athlete Ben VanVeghten was recognized by the Capital District Chapter of the National Football Foundation and the College Football Hall of Fame as one of the top 12 overall winners for 2025. VanVeghten, a quarterback and defensive back for Schuylerville’s varsity football team, was honored at a luncheon at the Polonaise Ballroom in Albany, along with athletes from every Section 2 school. He was accompanied by his family, Schuylerville CSD Athletic Director, John Bowen, and Head Coach, Nick Richard.

VanVegthen gave a speech in front of over 300 attendees, reflecting on his four years as a student-athlete.
