Schuylerville High School senior Meaghan Lynch delivered impressive performances at the NYSPHSAA Track & Field Championships, earning two state championships and a Federation title, while adding another school record to her remarkable career.
In the long jump, Lynch soared 20 feet, 5½ inches to claim the NYSPHSAA Class C State Championship and the Federation Championship, awarded to the top performer across all New York State classifications. Her winning jump surpassed every competitor from Classes A, B, and C, making her the top long jumper in New York State. She was also one of only two athletes in the meet to eclipse the 20-foot mark. The leap also established a new Schuylerville outdoor track school record.

Competing in the triple jump, on her fifth attempt, Lynch recorded a jump of 39 feet, securing the NYSPHSAA Class C State Championship by just ¼ inch over the runner-up. With the two victories, Lynch concludes her high school career as a five-time New York State champion, winning four state titles in the long jump and one state title in the triple jump over the past two seasons.
“It feels really good. I am so grateful,” said Lynch. “Everyone has been so supportive, and it’s always been a great experience.”
Lynch credited the many coaches who have supported her along the way, including the Schuylerville indoor and outdoor track coaching staff, Athletic Director John Bowen, her club coach, Coach Pap, from Sky’s the Limit Track and Field, and Coach O’Reilly of NY Metro Elite, whom she has worked with for the past two years.

During a signing ceremony held at Schuylerville, Lynch celebrated her commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at the University at Buffalo, where she will compete in both the long jump and triple jump at the NCAA Division I level.
“I’m really excited to compete in college, but I’m also really grateful for my time at Schuylerville,” said Lynch. “I’m excited to see the growth I will have not just athletically, but also as a person.”
