The Schuylerville High School varsity cheerleading team was named the Division 2 Large Squad Sectional Champions during a competition held on Feb. 25! The team will compete in the state championship March 4 at the Veterans Memorial Arena in Binghamton, NY. The event will be streamed on the NFHS Network: www.nfhsnetwork.com.
Prior to sectionals, the team was named the 2023 Foothills League Champion, placing in first out of eight schools and also earning best choreography.
“This team never ceases to amaze me,” said Coach Charlene Becker. “Year to year, they push to be better. My favorite memory so far was their performance at the Foothills League Championships. The energy was amazing, you could tell they wanted it more than anything, and the crowd loved it. They won overall highest score across 3 divisions, and were crowned the Foothills League Champions. That moment was extra special, earning it our own gym. I can’t wait to see them perform at States!”
