Schuylerville High School students Jason McCaughey and Jackson Price were selected as members of the 2025 Vermont State University Castleton Jazz Ensemble, an honor that recognizes both musical skill and dedication. The students rehearsed weekly for several months alongside fellow student musicians, working collaboratively to prepare a diverse and challenging jazz repertoire. Their hard work culminated in a live performance on the Castleton campus at the Casella Theatre. McCaughey performed on trumpet and Jackson anchored the ensemble as the double bassist.
“They were both superb representatives of Schuylerville and had fantastic performances in the concert,” said Mr. Michael Craner, Schuylerville High School Band Director.
