Led by Shannon Vallee, Jennifer Pemrick, and Michele Battle, the annual Kickin’ Out Cancer fundraiser is a shared mission among students, faculty, staff, and athletic teams to help local charities and families affected by cancer. Throughout the district, various grade levels, offices, departments, and athletic teams contributed to the effort by donating hundreds of dollars’ worth of items to create raffle baskets.
The celebration culminated on Oct. 7 during the field hockey and girls soccer games, featuring a halftime walk, 50/50 raffle, and concession sales, all adding to the fundraising total. Earlier in the day, students and staff across grades K–12 showed their support by participating in a districtwide spirit day, wearing pink or Kickin’ Out Cancer apparel to honor the cause.
“Every year, this event reminds us how strong and compassionate our Schuylerville community truly is,” said Shannon Vallee, one of the event organizers. “We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, and participated.”
