Girls cross country wins sectional title, team and James Lynch advance to state championships


2022 Schuylerville High School Girls Cross Country team

Congratulations to the Schuylerville High School varsity girls cross country team, who won the Section 2, Class C Championships held on Saturday, Nov. 5. Megan Vianese and Adeline Ballou led the team to victory, with their 2nd and 3rd place finishes. The Black Horses beat 2nd place Broadalbin-Perth by 49 points. Other team scorers included: Nikki Stark (11th), Hannah Yonkin (15th), and Lillian Letzring (22nd). During the Section 2 Championship, the Schuylerville High School varsity boys team placed 7th. The cross country athletes are coached by Kevin Emblidge.

The girls team, as well as varsity boys runner James Lynch competed in the NYSPHSAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 12 at Vernon Verona. 

The girls team finished in 8th place. Top female finishers included freshman Adeline Ballou (18th) and senior Megan Vianese (22nd). James Lynch, the boys team qualifier finished 43rd. Congratulations to all!
