Schuylerville High School junior, Kimberly Brandt, will perform with the Castleton University Jazz Ensemble on Tuesday, May 2. Kim has been rehearsing with the band during the spring semester on Tuesday evenings. The program is a Tribute to Wayne Shorter, the legendary tenor saxophonist who recently passed. Mr. Shorter played with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Miles Davis and Weather Report, who famously recorded the hit composition, Birdland in the 1970’s. He is considered to be one of the best jazz saxophonists and composers of all time.
The concert is at 7:00 p.m. in the Casella Theatre at Castleton University and is open to the public. Congratulations to Kim!
