Independent Science Research student wins Eastern Sub-Regional Symposium

Congratulations to Schuylerville High School senior Eleanor Hughes who competed and won during the Jan. 27 Eastern Sub-Regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposium.

Hughes represented the district as a University in the High School Independent Science Research student. Her research, titled, “The Effect of Political Socialization on Perception of Party Identification and Expression of Identity Homophily Among High School Students” was a three-year project, under the guidance of Schuylerville High School teacher David Connelly and mentorship of Dr. Christopher Ojeda.

Hughes will now advance to the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium Feb. 28-29.
