Elementary Clubs & Activities

Schuylerville Elementary School students have a broad range of interests, which are reflected by the number of clubs and organizations in which our pupils participate. Here are the offerings for the 2022-23 school year:

Art Club

  • Open to students in grades 3-5
  • Advisor: Mr. Shea
  • The goal of the Elementary School Art Club is to help interested students have the opportunity to explore the varying techniques and media used in visual art. Students work individually and in groups to develop artistic skills and bring art to the community.

Band (Beginning)

  • Open to students in grades 4-5
  • Advisor: Ms. Scales
  • Beginning Band students attend a weekly lesson to learn various skills needed to play an instrument and to participate in a performing group. Performance opportunities may arise throughout the year and Beginning Band students are eligible to participate upon achieving the necessary skills.

Band (Advanced)

  • Open to students in grade 5
  • Advisor: Ms. Scales
  • The Advanced Band is made up of students in fifth grade who have been playing and studying an instrument for one year or more.

Chorus

  • Open to students in grade 5
  • Advisor: Chris Tucker
  • Advanced Chorus is open to all students in grade five. This large ensemble focuses its learning on performing a larger repertoire of music of many styles. The skill level spirals from the end of the beginning level chorus, with greater emphasis on more difficult rhythms and two-part singing. It is recommended that students try the Advanced Chorus before choosing to continue in the Middle School choral program.

Ski Club

  • Open to students in grades 3-6
  • Advisor: Pat Whalen & Chad Jorgensen
  • Students receive small-group ski instruction based on their individual skiing ability. Participants get to ski at Willard Mountain with friends and make new friends at the same time.
