District to explore Universal Prekindergarten

The Schuylerville Central School District has formed a committee for the purpose of evaluating the need and potential rollout of Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) for our district students and families. The committee will be comprised of the following people:

  • Superintendent of Schools
  • Assistant Superintendent for Business
  • Elementary School Principal
  • Director of Pupil Personnel Services
  • Elementary School Teacher
  • Elementary Parent

The committee’s first meeting will take place the week of Oct. 11. The goal is to develop a sustainable program that meets the social, emotional, and academic needs of four-year-old children within our district. Committee members will bring valuable insight and perspective to this important venture.

As more information becomes solidified, it will be communicated to our school community. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely,

Gregg Barthelmas
Superintendent of Schools

Rose Beckett
Elementary School Principal
