District communications

Dear Schuylerville families,

As we begin a new school, below is important information regarding communication and how it’s distributed/received in the district. This will be a refresher for most, but especially important for incoming kindergarten and newly registered families.

SchoolMessenger

SchoolMessenger continues to be the district’s mass communication system, which provides families and faculty/staff with important announcements and alerts via email and text messages. Individuals are automatically connected to SchoolMessenger through SchoolTool, the district’s student information management system and parent portal. Information is entered into SchoolTool when a student registers by the registrar/main office staff. If any information changes in SchoolTool, those changes will automatically be carried over to SchoolMessenger every 48 hours.

Text message opt-in

*This is especially important for newly registered/incoming kindergarten families!*

Federal privacy laws and regulations require individuals to opt-in to receive text messages. Families only need to opt-in once for the academic lifetime of their student(s). To do so, simply text “Y” to 67587. You will then be opted in to district text messages permanently.

District Facebook page

The Schuylerville CSD Facebook page is used to promote the successes of students, teachers and staff, as well as districtwide events and activities on campus. “Like” the page to follow all of the happenings!  https://facebook.com/schuylervillecentralschooldistrict

District YouTube channel

For the 2021-22 school year, the district will be utilizing its YouTube channel to livestream some events in an effort to reach a larger audience than it can in-person. All Board of Education meetings will be livestreamed as well. Subscribing to the district’s YouTube channel is free and easy: click here to access the channel and then click “subscribe” in the upper right hand corner.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the district’s Communications Director, Taryn Kane: kanet@schuylerville.org. Thank you!
