Schuylerville senior basketball player breaks all-time career scoring record

Luke Sherman

Schuylerville High School senior, Lukas Sherman, broke the all-time career scoring record for a Schuylerville boys basketball player on Tuesday, Jan. 23. The 1,317 point record, held by Eric Stover since 1978, now sits with Sherman at 1,325 points!

“Eric was a member of the 1978 state championship team and went on to play four years of Division 1 basketball at St. Bonaventure,” said Boys Basketball Varsity Head Coach, Matt Steinfort. “It’s quite the record that has lasted for decades and this a great accomplishment on Lukas’ part. We are proud of him!”

“I’d like to thank my teammates and Coach Steinfort,” said Sherman. “Without them putting me in positions to succeed along the way, I couldn’t have done it. I’m very appreciative.”
