Christine Burke, Assistant Superintendent for Business
Christine Burke has served as the Assistant Superintendent for Business since July of 2021. In her role, Christine is responsible for the operation, supervision and evaluation of the financial and operational services which include fiscal services, budgeting, operations and maintenance, transportation, facilities and construction, property and risk management, purchasing, food service, information technology, purchasing and business office. She also provides oversight and support working directly with the superintendent as needed in relation to unions, personnel, legal, fiscal, the board of education and more.
Prior to working at Schuylerville CSD, Christine was the Chief Financial Officer for the Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES. Previously, she spent more than seven years working for the Berkshire Union Free School District as Controller and Assistant Superintendent of Operations, and six years as a senior accountant for the New York State Education Department. Christine has a Master of Business Administration and a School District Business Leader Certificate.
Lauren Leahy, Treasurer
As Schuylerville’s District Treasurer, Lauren Leahy works with Schuylerville’s Assistant Superintendent for Business, Christine Burke, to manage approved budget expenditures and revenues for all funds; identify and research budget inconsistencies; prepare grant forms; track Capital Project expenditures; assist in monthly BOCES bill reconciliation, and assist in year end closing.
Leahy has 11 years of experience working in a school district/BOCES-related financial environment. She has worked at the East Greenbush Central School District since 2021, first as the district’s Payroll Specialist, and then as the Acting Supervising Accountant/District Treasurer, the position she currently holds. Prior, Leahy was the Treasurer at Berkshire Union Free School District and began her career at Questar III BOCES, where she worked as the Clerk and the CBO & Fixed Assets Technician. Leahy has an Associate of Applied Science in Administrative Information Management & Technology from Hudson Valley Community College, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from SUNY Canton, and a Master of Business Administration from Utica College.
Saron Congdon, Senior Account Clerk, Payroll
Saron has served as the Senior Account Clerk since August of 2010. In her role, Saron is responsible for payroll and workers compensation, and serves as the health insurance liaison for the district.
Saron started working for Schuylerville in 2004 as a cafeteria worker, with duties that also included doing billing for Food Service, and internal claims auditing for the district.
Barb Lapitsky, School Tax Collector
Barb has served as the School Tax Collector since July of 2013. In her role, Barb processes accounts payable, is treasurer of extra class accounts, and serves as the district tax collector.
Barb started her career as a senior computer programmer for the New York State Education Department. She also worked in the accounting department at Stewart’s Marketing Corp. prior to her employment at Schuylerville Central School in May of 1998. She worked for 13 years as Secretary to the Principal of the Elementary School before her Senior Account Clerk position began in the District Office in July of 2012.
