Dear Grades K-5 Families,
On Thursday, Oct. 8, Schuylerville Elementary School will be recognizing Fire Prevention Week. Emergency services agencies from the towns of Saratoga and Northumberland will be participating in a Fire Prevention and Education Day at the elementary school. We will have several emergency vehicles along the bus port to support the activities.
Students in grades K-5 will have the opportunity to interact with firefighters and learn about the important equipment used. Students will also have an opportunity for a fire truck tour and lesson during recess time. Kindergarten classes will be educated in their classroom by a firefighter on fire safety. Parents/guardians of remote students will have the opportunity to join virtually by reaching out to the respective classroom teacher to make arrangements. Educating children about fire safety is one of the most important functions of fire service.
Thank you to the members of the Schuyler Hose Company, Victory Mills Fire Department, Quaker Springs Fire Department, Gansevoort Fire Department, and Wilton EMS for presenting the assemblies and giving the fire truck tours! We are looking forward to a great day!
Sincerely,
Rose Beckett, Principal
