2023-24 scholarships will be updated as they become available to apply. Check this page periodically for new updates. Applications/information for each scholarship can also be found in the Student Services office in the scholarship bin.

Dollars for Scholars

It is never too early to start your Dollars for Scholars online application! Our local chapter gives out thousands of dollars in scholarships at our graduation ceremony for eligible students. Visit the Schuylerville online application.

  • Once you are on the home page, click on the ‘Students and Parents’ tab at the top of the page.
  • On this next page, under Student and Parent Login, click on the red Login. This will open the Scholarship America Dollars for Scholars Student Center. You should see ‘Don’t have an account yet? Create one here’.
  • After clicking on that link in Schuylerville Junior-Senior High School, under ‘High School Name’ and click on the blue link that reads ‘Choose this school’.
  • You will then be directed to several pages of info that students need to fill in…only those with asterisks are required.

National Grid Electric Worker’s Scholarship: eligible applicants must self-identify as Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic or Latino, Asian, Native Hawaiian, or other Pacific Islander (any gender) OR self-identify as a female (any race/ethnicity) AND be a current high school senior, have a high school diploma or have a GED. Applicants must also plan to enroll part-time or full-time at HVCC in one of the following programs: Electrical Construction Maintenance (AOS) or Overhead Electric Line Worker Certificate. Scholarship deadline window: May 15- June 12.

Glens Falls Community Theatre Scholarship: eligible applicants must be enrolled in a two- or four-year program in vocal or instrumental performance, music education, drama education, acting, dancing, set design, or technical theatre. Deadline: May 12

Beth Chubb Roberts Memorial Scholarship: to honor the life and legacy of Beth Chubb Roberts, the Schuylerville Teachers’ Association has set up a memorial scholarship fund to give back to graduating Schuylerville students. The memorial scholarship is a broad scholarship that is committed to supporting all of the things Beth stood for. Applicants are asked to submit a one-page reflection of their career at Schuylerville and state what their future aspirations are. Deadline: May 15

Saratoga County Medical Society Scholarship: eligible applicants must intend to further their education in a health-related field. Applicants must submit a resume, high school transcript, a list of extra-curricular activities, a letter of recommendation, and a essay expounding on the student’s ideas regarding the answer to the following question: If you were placed in charge of the health care system in the United States, what change(s) would you make? Deadline: May 15

Old Saratoga Historical Association Scholarships: eligible applicants must be attending a two or four year college in the fall and complete a 600-word essay on: “The role Philip Schuyler played in the development of Old Saratoga (Schuylerville)” OR “How living in an historic village or area has influenced my life.” Deadline: May 15

NYS School Facilities Association Scholarship: eligible applicants must be a 2024 graduate from a school district, who’s Director of Facilities, is a member of the Capital District Chapter – New York State School Facilities Association in the current school year. Applicant must be pursuing a college or vocational career in facilities management, construction management, engineering or related field of study. Deadline: May 17

Women’s Republican Club of Saratoga County Marlene Trieble Scholarship: eligible applicant must be a college bound senior, a resident of Saratoga County, and follow the application criteria. Deadline: May 20

Black Horses Athletic Award: applicants must respond to an essay prompt included on the application. Deadline: May 22

Schuylerville Youth Lacrosse Award: eligible applicants must have played lacrosse for Schuylerville High School during their four years of high school (grades 9 – 12) on either the JV and/or Varsity teams, while maintaining an overall average of 90 or above. Deadline: May 22

Fred Male Scholarship: eligible applicants must be pursuing a career or continuing his/her education in construction, heavy equipment operation, or a related labor field. Deadline: May 22

Schuylerville PEP Scholarship: eligible applicants must have attended Schuylerville Central School District for a minimum of nine years, be a current senior, and have plans to further their education. Deadline: May 31

Richard Eglin Memorial Scholarship: eligible applicants must have signed enlistment paperwork for the United States Armed Forces, Reserves, or R.O.T.C program. Deadline: May 31

Joanne Luciano Memorial Scholarship: The recipient of the scholarship must be a student in financial need who is continuing their education in a field that will benefit children. Applicants must include a resume and a one-page, double-spaced essay that answers, “Why I have chosen a career that will benefit children.” Deadline: May 31 (to Student Services)

June

The Lariat Future Innovators Foundation STEM Scholarship: designed to empower students aged 18-24 who are pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, and math. Eligible students are from small towns with a population of fewer than 25, 000 and who have a family household income of $55,000 or less. Deadline: June 15

Deputy Chief Brian Buell Memorial Scholarship: eligible applicants must intend to pursue a career as a First Responder. Preference is given to either an active member of the Greenwich Fire Department, or the child or grandchild of an active or life member of the Greenwich Fire Department. Deadline: June 3

October

Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation: eligible applicants must have a 3.0 or higher GPA and complete an online Coca-Cola Scholars application (that requires no essay, no recommendations, and no transcripts). Learn more about the Coca-Cola Scholars ProgramDeadline: October 2 by 5:00 p.m.

November

Elks Most Valuable Student (MVS) Contest: The Elks National Foundation (ENF) awards 500 four-year scholarships based on academics, leadership, and financial need. National awards range from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year. The national awards will be announced in April 2024. MVS scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree on a full-time basis, at a U.S. college or university next school year. Some important applicant details are below; students should choose Greenwich Lodge #2223 as their sponsoring Lodge. Deadline: November 13.

  • Current high school seniors (or equivalent) who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants do not have to be related to a member of the Elks.
  • Male and female students compete separately.
  • Applicants select from a list of the Lodges closest to their home address zip code.

December

Hagan Scholarship: a nationwide, four-year, need-based merit scholarship providing each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free, providing up to $6,000 each semester. After graduation from college, Hagan Scholars can apply for a two-year extension of their scholarship to attend graduate school or a professional school, receiving $6,000 each semester. Deadline: December 1

Boston University – Trustee & Presidential Scholarship:Students with outstanding academic records and strong leadership skills can apply to Boston University and be considered for a merit-based scholarship. To learn more about the requirements of these scholarships and other merit awards offered by BU, please visit the Boston University websiteDeadline: December 1

  • Trustee Scholarship: Boston University’s most prestigious full-tuition scholarship recognizes extraordinary academic performance and leadership ability. Students must submit one additional essay with their application for admission.
  • Presidential Scholarship: This four-year, $25,000 scholarship is awarded to students with exceptional academic achievements. No additional application materials are required—all students need to do to be considered is apply for admission by the scholarship deadline.

The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship / Internship Program: this program will provide selected high school seniors with a scholarship up to $40,000for college and internship opportunities at Amazon. Deadline: December 15

Equitable Excellence Scholarship: eligible applicants must demonstrate ambition and self-drive to be a force for good in school, community or work activities. Deadline: December 18

January

Saratoga’s Community Federal Credit Unioneligible applicants must be planning to enroll in a two or four-year accredited institution for the first time in the fall of 2024; scholarships awarded may range from $500 to $1,500. Deadline: January 5

The Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship: eligible applicants must be a graduating senior, a US citizen, present evidence of financial need, demonstrate a record of academic excellence as well as leadership potential, and plan to attend a 4-year college. Deadline: January 10

Saratoga Credit Union College Scholarship ProgramCollege bound high school seniors may apply to three different scholarships with one application; eligible applicants must attend either a two or four-year accredited institution for the first time in the fall of 2024. Deadline: January 5

TCT Federal Credit Union Scholarship ProgramVisit the website to download an application. The student will need to contact the credit union directly to obtain a credit union verification code to verify eligibility. Complete the application form and required essay and obtain the required transcripts, along with the signature of a parent or guardian. Application materials must be submitted online no later than January 5.

February

Elks Legacy Awards: Legacy Awards provide $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elk members. The ENF offers a total of 350 national awards. Deadline: February 5

The New York Water Environment Associationvarious scholarships will be awarded to students in New York State who plan to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental major; scholarships will range from $4,000 – $12,000. Deadline: February 28

March

Hudson Mohawk (AHEC) Health Career Scholarshipeligible applicants must be entering an approved healthcare related certificate or degree program at a local community college, university, or training entity within New York State. Deadline: March 15

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation provides post secondary scholarship support (averaging $3,500 per year) to every eligible child of a Marine. Deadline: March 1

Brown Hudner Navy Scholarship Foundation provides support in postsecondary STEM programs to children of sailors. Deadline: March 1

The Grishkot Foundation Scholarship: this is a renewable college scholarship of at least $2,500 per year, for up to four years for residents of Warren, Washington and Saratoga Counties pursuing a degree in Aviation, Aerospace, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and other related medical support fields. Undergraduate premedical and graduate medical studies are specifically excluded. Deadline: March 2

NYSUT Retiree Council 10: applicants must be pursuing a degree in education at either a two-year college transfer program or a four-year college. Deadline: March 25

CSEA Local 864 Scholarship: applicants must be a child of an employee represented by Local 864 and attend school represented by the Local 864. There are three awards available and one application. The one application will cover all awards. Deadline: March 29

Gerard J. Buckenmeyer FASNY Volunteer Scholarship: eligible applicants must be a member in good standing with FASNY or have a parent/legal guardian who is a member and serve as a current Junior firefighter, Explorer Scout or RAM in a group affiliated with a volunteer department; a volunteer firefighter, or a volunteer with an EMS unit. Additionally, FASNY has a Higher Education Learning Plan (HELP) which is a program that reimburses volunteer firefighters for tuition at New York’s two-year and four-year state colleges. Julia O. Wells Memorial Education Foundation Inc. Scholarship: offers a scholarship to a student who plans to pursue his/her education at a two or four year accredited registered professional nursing program. Deadline: If you plan to pursue this path, please see Mrs. Rust or Mrs. O’Brien before March 15.

Saratoga Hospital Volunteer Guild Scholarship: eligible applicant must be planning to enter a college curriculum in a healthcare field, have a GPA of 80+, and have a record of volunteerism. Deadline: March 31

April

Operation Adopt a Soldier Scholarship: eligible applicants must be a graduating senior, have/had a service member in his/her family, and write a 300-400 word essay in response to the question: “What is your viewpoint of people who serve in the military?” Deadline: the essay, Scholarship Informational Sheet, and letter of recommendation should be given to your school counselor by April 15.

Cameron Jace Quartiers Memorial Scholarshipeligible applicants must be in good academic standing, plan to attend an accredited 2 or 4 year college, pursue a degree in any area of health care, and have a record of volunteerism within the community. Deadline: April 30

Troy Industrial Solutions Manufacturing Scholarship: eligible applicant must be a graduating high school senior who is interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing, mechanical or maintenance industries. The Troy Industrial Solutions Manufacturing Scholarship recipient will receive a $1000.00 financial award to be used towards earning a certificate or educational credential at any college, vocational or trade school in the US. Funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, equipment, or tools used in this endeavor. Deadline: April 1

Schuylerville Community Theater: eligible applicants must be high school seniors who wish to pursue a degree in Music, Dance, Drama or Theater Arts. Deadline: April 20

First New York Federal Credit Union Scholarship: eligible applicants must be a First New York Federal Credit Union member in good standing, plan to attend a two or four-year college in the fall of 2024, and be an active volunteer within the community. Deadline: April 5

Saratoga Builders Association Scholarship: eligible applicants must be a high school senior or college undergraduate who is planning to pursue construction education at a 2 or 4-year accredited college or university or students who would like to purchase tools and/or equipment for employment/career or to start a business in the construction industry. Deadline: April 1
