Two Schuylerville teachers named finalists in Saratoga County Teacher of the Year contest

Two Schuylerville Central School District teachers have been named finalists in the Saratoga County Teacher of the Year contest. The contest is being organized by Saratoga Today newspaper.

Erica DiLello, a seventh grade teacher at Schuylerville Middle School, was nominated by one of her students. The student referred to DiLello as caring, funny and always there when students need help.

Ron Hayes, an 11th grade teacher at Schuylerville High School, was nominated by the mother of a student in Hayes’ class. In the nomination form, the mother says she is impressed with Hayes’ enthusiasm for math and is impressed with the life lessons he has imparted on his students.

DiLello and Hayes are among 12 finalists and voting is open to the public until April 24. Three winners—one elementary school teacher, one middle school teacher and one high school teacher—will be featured in the Saratoga Today newspaper and its affiliated publications; the winners also will be awarded a variety of gifts.
