The Schuylerville Central School District’s Transportation Department has earned a perfect score (100 percent) on its New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) bus safety inspection. All school buses and vans in the state are subject to a comprehensive and rigorous inspection by NYSDOT at least once every six months. All of the Schuylerville school buses and vans passed with no defects.
Schuylerville’s Director of Transportation Don Young says it is very rare to receive a 100 percent passing grade because the criteria for inspecting vehicles is extremely stringent. He attributes the success to the commitment and dedication of the district’s mechanics.
“Chuck Barss and Brian Greb should be commended for the exceptional job they do,” Young said. “The high safety ratings from the state are the result of their exceptional devotion to safety for our buses and the passengers we transport.”
Barss and Greb maintain about 40 vehicles for the Schuylerville Central School District.
