The Schuylerville High School girls lacrosse team is celebrating a successful season despite a loss in the Section II Tournament. The Black Horses had a record of 12-6 after falling 8-3 to Scotia-Glenville on Wednesday, June 1 in the Class C final. It was the first time in program history that the girls lacrosse team made it to the Section II final.
“I am so proud of this group,” said coach Erin Lloyd. “They played their hearts out, dug deep and battled to the bitter end.”
Lloyd is already looking forward to next season. Despite losing six seniors to graduation, she has several sophomores on the team.
“Now we’ve been here as a program,” Lloyd said. “It’s great for our underclassmen to say they’ve been here. I think we can keep this momentum going into next season.”
