Schuylerville Middle School students are getting their wish: a new hamburger in the school cafeteria. Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students voted for the cafeteria to switch to a new burger and Food Services listened. A representative from ACOSTA Foodservice visited campus on Feb. 6 and let students sample two different burgers during lunch periods. During the blind taste test, students overwhelmingly selected a burger that is gluten-free, soy-free and made from 100 percent beef.
“I’m thrilled the students chose this product,” said Sarah Keen, Food Services Manager and Registered Dietitian. “Schuylerville has been moving toward serving less processed food for several years and this is just one more step in the right direction.”
The new burger will be available to all grade levels in September 2019.
