Students place in top 10 at World Dairy Expo

Four Schuylerville Central School District students took part in the World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Seventh-grader Hannah King and her brother freshman Nate King, as well as Adam and Lauren King, a senior and freshman respectively, exhibited cows as part of the International Junior Show, a show for youth throughout North America. Hannah’s cow “Curlie” placed fifth out of 19 animals and Nate’s cow “Antonia” placed seventh out of 35 animals. Their animals were judged on their overall confirmation and appearance.

World Dairy Expo is a five-day event showcasing North America’s most elite dairy cattle as well as the newest research and technologies available to the dairy industry. The show is held annually at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. Annually, 75,000 people from throughout the entire world travel to Madison for the event and over 2,500 cows are shown throughout the five-days.
