Two groups of Schuylerville Central School District students were recognized at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 15.

A group of fourth grade students was recognized for its accomplishments in the sixth annual Battle of the Books competition at Skidmore College in March. The team took first place for its grade level. The students had to read 10 books, both fiction and non-fiction, to prepare for the “battle” consisting of 32 questions for a two-team battle and 48 questions for a three-team battle. The students each introduced themselves to the Board and shared what their favorite book was this year.

The Schuylerville High School robotics team was also recognized for its success this year. The students recently traveled to St. Louis to compete in the FIRST Championship, after earning their bid to compete at the Tech Valley Regional. The students showed off their robot and answered questions about how it operates.
