Schuylerville High School senior Stratton Sherman reached the 1,000-point mark for his varsity basketball career on Wednesday, Jan. 30 in a hard-fought 63-54 loss to Gloversville. Sherman needed 14 points to reach the milestone and scored his 1,000th point on a floater in the lane early in the fourth quarter. He finished with 18 points and stands at 1,004 points and counting.

“I’m thrilled for him,” said head coach Matthew Steinfort. “He earns everything he gets. He’s a great kid who is hardworking and selfless. To accomplish a 1,000-point score is pretty remarkable because of how selfless he is on the court. It’s a testament to his worth ethic and a testament to the teammates around him.”

Sherman is just the sixth player in Black Horse history to eclipse 1,000 points.
