Schuylerville High School Senior Zach Pierce has signed an official letter of intent to play lacrosse at the University of Tampa next year. Pierce signed the letter in front of administrators, his coach, his parents and the media on Monday, Nov. 16.
“It feels amazing. It’s hard to put into words how exciting it is to know I get to go on and play another four years of the sport I love,” Pierce said. “I just have to thank everyone, especially Coach Smith. He’s gotten me to where I am today and I can’t thank him enough.”
Pierce is a three-sport athlete for the Black Horses, excelling in varsity lacrosse, varsity football and varsity basketball. His lacrosse coach, Andrew Smith, says he expects Pierce will do great things at the Division II level.
“He’s a special kid who plays the game the right way,” Smith said. “He’s a playmaker, an up-tempo unselfish player. He makes everyone better and I couldn’t be more excited for him.”
