A second grade student at Schuylerville Elementary School has been named Kid of the Week by B95.5, Time Warner Cable News and the Times Union. Erin Kelleher was nominated by her teacher Terri Sullivan. Sullivan nominated Erin after Erin told her that instead of gifts for her birthday, she asked for money, which she then donated to Shelters of Saratoga.

“It did not surprise me that Erin used her birthday money to help others,” Sullivan said. “She is a caring girl who is helping to make a difference.”

This is the second year that Kelleher donated her birthday money to help those in need.

“I was inspired by my friend who had done it in the past,” Kelleher said. “I was so happy and excited when I found out I was Kid of the Week.”

Kelleher was mentioned on B95.5 on Feb. 13. Her picture also appeared in the Times Union and on Time Warner Cable News.
