Schuylerville students attend Tri-County Food Show

Schuylerville students visit the Tri-County Food ShowMore than two dozen Schuylerville students in grades 6-12 attended the first ever Tri-County Student Food Show at the Greenwich Elks Lodge, hosted by the region’s school food service directors. During the Nov. 6 event, students sampled 100 different foods and rated whether or not they would like to see them on their school’s lunch menu. There were a variety of local products, including three New York hamburgers (one from a butcher in Whitehall), a New York hot dog, local applesauce, yogurt, juice and pizza sauce.

More than 200 Tri-County students from 12 districts attended the event. Sarah Keen, Schuylerville’s Food Service Manager, will compile the surveys from Schuylerville students and use their feedback to make decisions about the district’s breakfast and lunch menus.
