A Schuylerville High School junior’s sketchbook is getting him noticed by a well-known graphic designer. George Olsen is enrolled in the Early College Career Academy through SUNY Adirondack. As part of his graphic design class, he is required to keep a sketchbook using Field Notes. On Monday, March 27, Field Notes co-founder Aaron Draplin visited the Queensbury campus for a workshop and public lecture. The students created a “Best in Sketch Galley” for Draplin to judge all of their sketchbooks and choose his favorite. Olsen’s was selected and the Media Arts Club awarded him with a prize that Draplin presented to him after the lecture.
