Schuylerville Elementary School students ask Santa to help people quit smoking

Reality Check students work with Elementary School students to create cardsSeveral Schuylerville Elementary School students have sent letters to Santa, asking him to help people quit smoking to create a healthier world. The students wrote the letters on Dec. 8 with help from Schuylerville High School students involved in Reality Check.

Reality Check is a youth-based, adult mentored statewide youth program operated by the New York State Department of Health. Program coordinators say the goal of Reality Check is to “educate teens about the manipulative marketing practices used by the tobacco industry to get teens to smoke.”
