Please be advised that as of Jan. 28, the Remind mobile messaging platform that many of the district’s teachers and coaches use to send group messages to their students and/or teams will discontinue text message delivery to Verizon Wireless subscribers. As is explained here, Verizon has increased the fee it charges Remind to deliver text messages. Please note, Remind is not shutting down or discontinuing text message delivery on other wireless carriers and Verizon Wireless subscribers can continue to receive messages by downloading the Remind mobile app, or enabling e-mail notifications – both of which are free of charge.
Please note, this does not impact text messages sent out through the district’s Blackboard system (notification about school delays, closings, etc.)
