Project update: high school addition nearly complete

Capital project photoConstruction on Schuylerville Central School District’s capital project is progressing with the high school addition nearly complete. Crews are currently finalizing the inside of the addition by hanging sheetrock, painting, and installing windows and lockers. The addition will house three new agriculture and technology classrooms featuring flexible space and a greenhouse, as well as an adaptive physical education space, a new facilities maintenance area and a new loading dock. Directly outside the addition, crews have installed curbs and sidewalks and will be laying blacktop for additional parking. Crews are also wrapping up several renovations at the high school, including updates to a server closet and reconfiguration of the loading dock area. When the high school addition is complete, crews will begin renovating the old technology wing in the high school into the new administrative offices.

Capital project photoOver the next several weeks, the middle school addition will also begin to take shape. The slab for the addition has been poured and masonry wall layout has begun. The addition will house a new music room, library, science lab and additional classrooms. Both the middle school addition and administrative offices are expected to be complete in July 2020.

The district will be posting frequent updates throughout the project to keep the community aware of progress, as well as any limitations on campus.
