Opting out of district transportation for 2020-21 school year

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Due to the current situation related to COVID-19, the Schuylerville Central School District will be encouraging parents to drop off and pick up their students when school resumes. Carpooling will be encouraged to reduce the traffic flow into the school parking lot. Students who are eligible for busing will be encouraged to walk to school if they live within the village.

Opting out of transportation
In order for the district’s Transportation Department to be better prepared, we’d like to identify students who do not plan to use school bus transportation for the start of the 2020-21 school year. We are asking all parents/guardians who are planning to self-transport their children at this time to contact the Wendy Sullivan in the Transportation Department via email at sullivanw@schuylerville.org or by phone at 518-695-3468, by August 14, 2020.

Notices of approximate pick-up and drop-off times for current bus routes will be mailed to all families who are not opting out prior to school starting.

If during the school year families would like to opt back into transportation, they will follow the same process used to opt out (by emailing or calling Wendy Sullivan in the Transportation Dept.)

Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and we look forward to providing the safest possible transportation options during these trying times. A reminder that the district’s reopening plan and protocols will be released on Friday, July 31.
