Students, faculty, and staff will participate in a fire drill simulation. Firefighters will be visiting 2nd and 5th grade classrooms to review fire safety rules with children. All K-5 students will be given a fire truck tour. Kindergarten classes will be educated on fire safety while visiting the Schuyler Hose Company Fire House, where they will be given a tour and fire prevention packets. All grade levels will have the opportunity to interact with firefighters and learn about the important equipment used by firefighters. Educating children about fire safety is one of the most important functions of fire service.

Adirondack School Portraits will be at Schuylerville Elementary School for 2022 school pictures. There will be two cameras set up on the stage in the cafeteria. Traditional group style class photos will not be taken this year due to social distancing requirements, but composite (collage) style photos using individual student images will be created. Two classes will be scheduled every 20 minutes to have pictures taken. Picture retakes for K-5 students will be on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Big Apple Crunch Day: Thursday, Oct. 27
FARM ON! Is an organization with a mission of inspiring, educating and preparing youth for successful careers in sustainable farming. Their vision is a world where a career in sustainable agriculture is valued and profitable.
Big Apple Crunch is a contest/celebration held annually in New York State on Oct. 27 to promote local apples, and Schuylerville Elementary School is participating this year! The New York State Education Department recognizes that Schuylerville supports farm to school efforts and as a result they will join us in our Big Apple Crunch Celebration.
All Schuylerville K-5 students, faculty and staff will gather on Black Horse Stadium in the center of the turf field. We will cone off an area to form the shape of an apple, leaf, and stem. An aerial photo will be taken using a drone.
