Oct. 8: update in medical protocols

Dear Schuylerville families,

There has been a change in the district’s medical protocols per the Department of Health and school physician, Dr. Nielson. A negative COVID-19 antigen result is now allowed for a person’s clearance to return to school, unless one or more of the following conditions applies:

  • The person is experiencing loss of smell and taste or shortness of breath
  • The person has traveled to a restricted state
  • The person has had direct exposure to a person with COVID-19

It is important to note, the antigen tests will no longer be permissible if the county’s rolling positive infection rate is three percent or higher for two or more days.

We will continue to monitor and respond to updated guidance we receive from the state and/or regional level, and communicate accordingly. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
