NJHS students celebrate successful year of service

NJHS studentsSchuylerville High School National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) members held an end-of-the-year ice cream sundae party on Wednesday, June 12 to honor more than two dozen members who completed all requirements as a member of NJHS this year. Students who were recognized completed a minimum of 40 hours of community service, as well as an additional five hours of peer tutoring and maintained an academic average of 90 or better.

As a club, NJHS students have completed and recorded 1,438 community service hours and 160 peer tutoring hours throughout this school year. Students have assisted many organizations, from the Old Saratoga Athletic Association and Schuylerville Public Library, to S.A.F.E.R, Operation Adopt-A-Soldier, Special Olympics, Washington County Fair and more than two dozen others.
