Dear Schuylerville families,
The district is in the process of switching to a new communication and mass notification system called SchoolMessenger, which will continue to provide district families with important announcements and alerts via email and text messages. Parents/guardians will be automatically connected to SchoolMessenger through SchoolTool, the district’s student information management system and parent portal. SchoolMessenger and SchoolTool will be directly linked. If parent/guardian information changes in SchoolTool, those changes will automatically be carried over to SchoolMessenger every 24 hours.
While district families’ email addresses have already been moved over to SchoolMessenger, in order to continue to receive text messages from the district, parents must opt in due to federal laws and regulations.
On Monday, August 17 at 10:00 a.m, parents/guardians will receive a text message invitation to receive SMS text messages from the district through the new SchoolMessenger system. This confirmation is required prior to families receiving text messages from our schools. The message on August 17 will look like this:
Schuylerville Central School District messages. Reply Y to confirm, Reply STOP to stop, HELP 4 info. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm
To receive text messages, simply reply “Y” when receiving the message. If you have any questions, please contact the district’s Communications Director, Taryn Kane, at kanet@schuylerville.org.
