Middle School Transition Letter

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Today, we take another important step in transitioning back to school in September, the release of student schedules. While we hope that you are enjoying summer, we are also looking forward to the start of the school year! Our school counselors have been working extensively to balance courses, reduce class sizes, and meet the academic needs of our students, while meeting the state guidelines for reopening. While you look over your student schedule on the ParentPortal, you will see lockers, study halls, lunch periods, and academic courses have been assigned. To meet the demand of balancing class sizes, we are unable to entertain schedule changes to request a preferred teacher.  The schedule is built for maximum efficiency and to make courses available to as many students as possible.

Parent Information Nights (Online)

  • Aug. 18 at 6:00 p.m. for 7th and 8th parents

Principal Elsworth will go over expectations for the hybrid learning model during this time. A link will be sent out that morning and posted on the district calendar.

Materials/Supplies

Supply lists will be posted later this week. Student supplies vary by teacher and grade level. Every student will be provided with a clear book bag to utilize throughout the day to cut down on the number of visits to their lockers. A clear book bag will be the only allowable book bag to be used by students.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we continue to provide everyone with a safe transition back to school. Please visit the Middle School Reopening Page  for more information on our plans to transition students back to school in September.  Have a great summer and we look forward to seeing you in September!

Sincerely,
Katie Elsworth
