March 28 incident on campus

We want to inform the public about an incident that occurred on the Schuylerville campus this morning, March 28, 2024. At approximately 9:50 a.m. an adult resident of Schuylerville ran from Rt. 29 onto campus, went up to a high school classroom window and banged on it, then proceeded to try and open an external door of the high school, which was locked.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded and the individual was immediately taken into custody without incident; the individual was not armed. Acting Superintendent James Ducharme worked with the school’s attorney to permanently ban the individual from campus via certified mail, which was sent today, March 28, 2024.

The Schuylerville campus is always in a lockout state, meaning all doors are closed and locked, which in this case, prevented the individual from entering a building. Thank you to our faculty and staff who remained aware and assisted in this situation, and thank you to law enforcement for their quick response in apprehending this person. If you have any questions, please contact Acting Superintendent Ducharme. Thank you.
