Life Skills students run ‘jolly’ school store

Students running jolly school storeSchuylerville Elementary School students in Amy Jordan’s life skills class helped their classmates complete some holiday shopping for family and friends. The students turned their SMILES school store into a holiday shop, with handmade crafts and special trinkets for sale. The life skills class was able to give back over $500 to children in the elementary school, in the form of $2 gift certificates. One parent said it was a delight to watch her daughter come home and proudly display all of the items she purchased for her family and friends.

“It fosters such independence and helps teach out kids that Christmas is so much more than a price tag.”
