Schuylerville Elementary School students in Amy Jordan’s Life Skills class helped raise more than $1,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through their Valentine’s Day carnation sale on Feb. 14. Jordan says the students were involved in every step of the process, from sorting request forms, to building an Excel sheet of recipients, to prepping, sorting and handing out more than 800 flowers.
“The students were excited to continue this project this year and they worked very hard to make it a success,” Jordan said. “I am so proud of them and so grateful to members of the community for their generosity.”
Last year, students in Jordan’s class donated $1,500 to the hospital from the profits of their Holiday Shoppe and Valentine’s Day flower sale.
