Letter from Principal Beckett

Dear Schuylerville Elementary Parent/Guardian,

It is hard to believe that we have concluded this historic school year.  We will continue to work hard on your behalf  to ensure a well-devised reopening plan – one that will bring a quality, innovative, and flexible learning environment to all of our students.  There will be many obstacles, but together we will overcome them.

I want to thank you for supporting your child(ren) through 68 days of remote learning.  It was a challenging task.  Your efforts are recognized and appreciated.   We acknowledge that all students, without exception, will return to school buildings having learned something important, and carry great potential to continue learning based on these unique conditions they navigated.  Throughout the summer we will provide families with optional enrichment opportunities.  Daily engagement with reading, writing, and math will prove to have a positive impact on your child(ren).  We trust that you will continue to keep your family’s physical, social, emotional, and mental health a top priority.

We will send home K-5 quarter 4 remote learning student report cards along with 20-21 teacher placement information by the end of the month.  We will NOT send home the student supply lists at this time as we want to ensure our lists are reflective of the changes necessary to support students with the reopening of school.   More information regarding supply lists will be provided over the summer.

Again, I thank you for valuing education in your home, supporting our exceptional community, and trusting that we as an elementary school will continue to do all we can to support the individual needs of your child(ren).

We wish you summer months filled with great joy, happiness, and health.

Sincerely,

Rose Beckett
Principal
