June 7: grades K-12 virtual learning day

Dear Schuylerville families,

Due to the extreme heat forecasted for tomorrow, coupled with the mask restrictions remaining in place per the NYS Education Department, the district will be pivoting to virtual learning for grades K-12 on Monday, June 7. There will be no before or after school program tomorrow, June 7, and no CTE BOCES programs.

The RealFeel temperature is expected to exceed 100 degrees tomorrow. The COVID-19 fan guidelines only allow for exhausting through a window. Therefore, fans would not provide adequate relief, and the district feels that the conditions and classrooms will be unbearable for children.

A decision regarding Tuesday, June 8, will be made by 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.

Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this decision.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ryan Sherman
