June 25, half-day of school

Dear Schuylerville K-5 families,

A reminder that the last day of school for K-8 students will be Friday, June 25, and it will be a half-day of school.  The elementary students will dismiss at 11:15 a.m.

Please note that our dismissal protocols for the year still apply.  If a student is taking the bus, they are only permitted to ride their assigned bus.

Permitted changes include:

  • Going from a ‘bus student’ to a ‘walker’ or ‘pick up’ student
  • Going from a ‘walker’ to a ‘pick up’ student
  • Going from a ‘pick up’ student to a ‘walker’ or a ‘bus student’ (on their assigned bus only)

Should a permitted change be necessary for your child(ren), legal parents/guardians are required to notify Mrs. Karen Ranck via email esdismissal@schuylerville.org  by Thursday, June 17.  Having this information in advance will make for a smooth and safe departure on the last day of school for all students.  Dismissal changes will not be permitted on the last day of school, June 25.

Walkers will begin dismissal from their classrooms at 11:00 a.m. and will need to walk off campus to their home or a parent/guardian.  Reducing unnecessary traffic on campus is critical to an efficient and safe departure. The ‘pick up’ student process will run just as it has all year from the elementary school gym.  Doors will open at 11:05 a.m. Bus students will dismiss following walkers and pick up students.

The School’s Out Program will offer only morning care to students before school on June 25;  the program will not be offered in the afternoon. All K-5 students will need to dismiss midday.  All students enrolled in the program will need to communicate with Mr. Nolan Palermo by Thursday, June 17 dismissal plans for that day (options include riding their assigned bus, ‘walker’, or ‘pick up student’).

Thank you again for all of your support during this challenging year.  We wish you and your family a successful end of the school year and an excellent summer!

Sincerely,

Rose Beckett
Elementary School Principal
