High School English teacher receives tenure appointment

Ross Marvin poses with the Board of Education after receiving tenureAt the Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 11, Schuylerville High School English teacher Ross Marvin received a tenure appointment. Marvin, who teaches 10th and 11th grade English and two distance learning classes, journalism and the short story, was introduced by Principal Matthew Sickles.

Marvin previously taught for four years in the Schenectady City School District. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Union College and a master’s degree in teaching from Union Graduate College. He also is a co-advisor for the Schuylerville High School yearbook club. Marvin will be permanently appointed to the English tenure area effective Sept. 2, 2016.
