Schuylerville High School senior Paul Harshbarger has been named a State Finalist in the Wendy’s High School Heisman. The annual scholarship competition recognizes students who display excellence and integrity both on and off the field. Harshbarger was one of 967 students named State Finalists from an applicant pool of nearly 42,000 high school scholar-athletes. Senior Grace Pelletier-Hoblock was recognized as a School Winner in the competition.
To qualify for the competition, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be leaders both in school and the community.
Harshbarger, a three-sport varsity athlete in football, basketball and baseball, will now compete for the chance to become a State Winner. State Winners will each receive a $500 college scholarship and will advance to the next round of the competition. State Winners will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
