The Schuylerville High School varsity girls lacrosse team earned the Class D Section II championship title on Wednesday, May 24 with a 13-4 win over Catholic Central. Coach Erin Lloyd says the victory was a year in the making after the team fell to Scotia in last year’s sectional final.

“Having the title slip through our fingers at the end of the game last year, we were determined to get back to the big game to redeem ourselves,” Lloyd said. “Our focus all season has been on mental preparation and toughness and the girls played their hearts out.”

The Black Horses will advance to play Millbrook of Section IX in the regional game at Burnt Hills on Tuesday, May 30 at 7 p.m. There will be an $8 admission charge at the gate.

“We are excited to be at this next level and to elevate our game,” Lloyd said.
