Schuylerville High School freshman Clare Sacks is looking to pursue her interest in genetics this summer at the Smith Summer Science and Engineering Program (SSEP) at Smith College in Massachusetts. Sack was accepted into the program after submitting her transcript, an essay and a letter of recommendation from Ms. Flores. The four-week residential program draws female high school students from across the country and abroad who have strong interests in science, engineering and medicine. Sacks will have the opportunity to do hands-on research with Smith faculty in the life and physical science and in engineering.
