Free school meals to be provided for all students through June 2022

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced funding will continue for schools to provide free meals to all students through June 2022. Breakfast and lunch will be free for all students in the 2021-22 school year, regardless of their eligibility. No action is needed for students to receive free meals. However, all families are encouraged to fill out an application; additional benefits are often made available for qualifying students, such as SAT fee waivers and assistance with other school-related costs.

Paper applications will not be mailed home this year.

  • The fastest, easiest way to apply is online; families are encouraged to utilize this option.
  • Click here to download a paper-copy PDF.
  • Applications can also be picked up in one of the school offices, or families can call 518-695-3255 ext 2290 to request one.

A meal consists of an entree, fruit, vegetable, and milk. Students may decline certain components but are required to take at least 1/2 cup fruit and/or vegetable with their meal. This is a USDA regulation nationwide. Cashiers will assist students in selecting a fruit if they come through the line without one.

Only one free breakfast and lunch are available to each student daily. A la carte items (including doubles) are still available grades 6-12 for purchase. Money must be available on a student’s account at the point of purchase using either online payment at (preferred method) or paying by cash/check.
