Five Schuylerville High School students represented the local FFA (Formerly Future Farmers of America) chapter at the 89th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis from Oct. 19-22. Members Meghan Benn, Ashley Flynn, Erin Bryant, Chrissy Putman and Johnny King participated in leadership workshops, watched Career Development Events, attended a career and college expo, and went to general sessions.
“Not only did we make friends from all over the United States, but we learned lessons that will definitely impact our futures,” said representatives for the FFA club. “The experience we had there was one in a million.”
On the way to the convention, the group toured several places centered around agriculture, including Agricultural Incubation Foundation, the Grape Discovery Center, Findlay University Equine Center, Rupp Seeds, Sechler’s Pickles, South Side Landfill and Crossroads Greenhouse, and Integrity Biofuels.
